Happy Friday! Because it is Friday and everyone is getting ready for the weekend I want to keep this blog post short. I want to write this as a quick follow up on a few of my previous blog posts (found here and here).
I have spoken on this site before how walking can be a great tool to kick start recovery and fat loss (read more here). I have also spoken about the importance of meditation. But let’s keep this simple. When you are dealing with stress and anxiety one of your biggest issues may be getting out of bed and having the motivation take on a full blown new workout routine. Simplicity may be the answer here. Let’s start with getting out of bed and going for a walk. You can easily turn walking into your own form of meditation to help you relax and deal with your stress/anxiety. Do your best to get outside so you can get some fresh air and some sunlight, but if you can’t, a treadmill will work just fine. Start walking and just pay attention to your surroundings. Listen for any sounds and take a good look at everything around you. Focus on being in the moment. Feel the breeze against your skin and the sun shining on you from above. Feel the soles of your feet hitting the ground. Pay attention to how you walk and which foot is stepping in front of the other. Left, right, left, right. Before you know it, your mind will be off of your worries. You will also be reaping all of the benefits walking has to offer. I know how hard it is to attempt to begin a new workout routine when your dealing with the stresses of everyday life and work. Just try and keep it simple, go for a walk whenever you can and just be in the moment. It will work wonders for you.
TIP: Try to go for a walk 3-5 days a week. If you can, go for a walk everyday. Take baby steps. Start with as little as you can endure, but try to increase the amount of time or distance every time. You will notice some fat loss as well as a difference in your cardiovascular capability . The meditation will help you clear your head.
