Welcome to the Unleash Your Potential Fitness blog! This is my first blog post and I would like to start by telling you why I set up this website.
Health and Fitness has always been a passion of mine, but the last few years have really shown me how beneficial fitness can be for your body and mind. My journey to self-improvement began when I experienced unwanted side effects from prescription medication. You can read more about it here. It was not until I finally decided it was time to change my life and deal with these side effects that things started to turn around. I began to eat to support my physical and mental functions. I used the gym as a form of “meditative” exercise and worked out for health and performance instead of vanity purposes. I learned that exercise can be a form of “medication” and therapy for yourself and the true improvements you should be aiming for are in your mindset. Within a matter of weeks I felt better than I had in years. I have committed my time and energy to learning everything I can about exercise, nutrition, mindset, and their effect on physical and mental health. I created Unleash your Potential Fitness for people just like I was at the start of my journey. It doesn’t matter where you are at in life, if you are:
- Desperate to make a change
- and wanting to build the best version of you through health and fitness.
You have come to the right place.
I have built this website and blog to help you realize that you all have the ability to better yourself. I am here to provide information to everyday people who aren’t able to filter out the bad information. I want to leave out the pages and pages of misinformation, and provide clear, easy to read, and to the point tips (based on my own personal training experience and research) on:
- Getting in great shape in just a few hours a week
- Eating to get strong and/or lose body fat
- Improving self confidence and mindset
- Stress reduction
I have been through many of the fad diets, I have unhealthily force fed myself trying to “bulk up”, I have spent more money than I would like to admit on supplements and the “latest and greatest” workout programs. Let me help you learn from my mistakes. I have gone from a skinny 125 lb college kid to a 225 lb power lifter. I have gone from 225 lbs back to a comfortable 185 lbs. I have been through it all. I have learned that fads don’t work, gimmicks don’t work; but consistency does. I believe everyone has the ability to better themselves. They just need a little guidance along the way.
In honor of the opening of this blog. I will be posting every day for the next 30 days. These posts will have great tips for bettering yourself physically and mentally. I hope you enjoy the site and that it can help you build the best version of you; in body and mind.
